世界中から注目を浴びるCGLEのLas Margaritas農園から、特別なSudan Rumeの品種が入荷しました。
CGLE (Café Granja La Esperanza) は、コロンビアで最高品質のコーヒーを生み出し続ける生産者グループとして、世界中のバリスタを魅了し続けています。
そんなCGLEを代表する農園の一つ、Las Margaritasは、コロンビア西部のValle de Caucaに位置し、その豊かな土壌でGeishaやPacamaraなど希少種を中心に栽培を行なっています。
Sudan Rumeという品種はその名の通り、Sudan内のRume渓谷で発見された品種です。その品質の高さは昔から認められていたものの、生産性が非常に低いことから、販売用としての栽培はほとんど行われてきませんでした。
しかし近年、品種ならではの独特で繊細なフレーバーが脚光を浴び、世界大会などでも頻繁に目にするようになった注目の希少品種です。
今回のロットは、Sudan Rumeの華やかなフレーバーを引き出すため、伝統的なNatural製法で作られています。
ハンドピッキングで丁寧に選別されたコーヒーチェリーは、その状態のままサイロに48時間置かれ、その後28日間かけてじっくりと天日での乾燥が行われます。
MuscatやPink Grapefruitのようなすっきりとしたフルーツ感と、品種特有のJuniper BerryやThymeを思わせるハーバルでスパイシーな香りが特徴のコーヒーです。

We are excited to announce the arrival of a special Sudan Rume from the Las Margaritas farm of CGLE (Café Granja La Esperanza), a producer group that continues to captivate baristas worldwide with the highest quality coffee from Colombia. Located in the Valle de Cauca in western Colombia, Las Margaritas farm is known for cultivating rare varieties such as Geisha and Pacamara in its fertile soils.
Sudan Rume, as the name suggests, is a variety discovered in Sudan's Rume Valley. Although its quality has long been recognized, its cultivation for commercial purposes has been limited due to very low productivity. However, its unique and delicate flavor has recently gained prominence, making it a sought-after variety in world competitions and among coffee aficionados.
This batch has been crafted using the traditional natural process to showcase the vibrant flavors of Sudan Rume. The carefully handpicked coffee cherries are left in silos for 48 hours before being slowly sun-dried over 28 days.
This coffee is characterized by its crisp fruitiness reminiscent of Muscat and pink grapefruit, and a distinctive herbal and spicy aroma suggesting juniper berries and thyme.
